Hi Guys,

What might cause vtec sound to get louder!! got an si 00
didnt do any upgrades to my car, suprisingly when driving it today it was screaming badly when vtec kicks in.
Just got a short ram intake.

any ideas?

 

exhaust leak? we have no idea of how it sounds to tell you anything.

i realized a big differance in sound..so i have to check my exhaust system

Listen to it it in idle and see if it sounds slightly louder or when you get on it before vtec.

 

start with the exhaust manifold, and work your way back.
Either something has a hole in it or has come undone.
If you have ramps it would be good to put your car up on it and crawl around there.

 

Back...the exhaust manifold is rusty that is leaking.. i wanna go for header 4-2-1 ,and i have a future plan to make it a b20 vtec.
So im wondering if i got headers for my b16, will it fit also on a b20 ?
I dont want to pay twice for a headers!

 

The bolt pattern between b16, b18, and b20's are all the same. If you order a header specifically for a b16 it will be shorter and later wont clear the oil pan of the b20. Just get one for a b18/b20 now. It will sit a little lower but not by much and you wont have to buy 2.
