Post Need help possible bad clutch

So I tried backing my car into my garage (didn't even make it, I had to pull it in because my garage has a steep driveway) and it seems to make a weird noise in reverse, almost a grinding but its really odd Ive never heard anything like it. It goes fine into reverse but will NOT make it up the hill. It seems to shift good into all other gears, I didn't smell anything frying so idk what it could be. I tried to google stuff but couldn't find anything helpful.
So could it be my clutch, or could my transmission be shot? My car is on the original clutch, with 134,000 miles. Any help is appreciated, thanks.

Does the car move forward fine up the same steep driveway?

Yeah it goes up the driveway fine. Just not in reverse it wont move, just makes a weird grinding type noise.

Sounds more like a transmission problem.

Thanks for the help. Is there anything I can do to test the trans?

You likely need to drop the transmission and open it up.

Is it properly filled with fluid?

Also verify that both axles are fully inserted/seated in the differential.

I will check the fluid for sure before i drop the trans. But maybe its time for me to do an engine swap and get rid of my single cam lol.
