s300 in a auto odb1 ecu
i know that hondata does not support automatic transmissions but i really been dieing to know what would happen if i was to install a s300 in a auto ecu (without pulling resisters and doing the bridge, 100% auto ecu). has anyone ever tried it??????? i know also a auto trans and s300 in a odb1 ecu setup to be a manual will work if the car has a separate tcu to control the transmission. people complain of the blinking d1 light in the dash sometimes but the auto trans works fine... anyone ever tried this your input would be great to discus!
ok i had to try this because only one person i know has done it and everyone else has been unsuccessful that i know. the honda must be a odb1 or odb2. the ecu must be a manual tune-able ecu. there must be a stock tcu.the car will run but the gear position lights i the dash will no longer function. the dash lights for gear possition will all be out except the D4 witch will be blinking. i am working with rywire to fix the dash lights now and return them to there normal functions. if they do not come up for a answer to the problem i will whip something up and post it for anyone who needs it at a later date. its time to tune now! if you need more info on this for your setup i can fill ya in on any details you might need.
I never used S300 but I did run an automatic chipped P75 w/ Crome in my 1995 Accord. I just retained the factory TCU. That was back when I first turbo'd it and was automatic. Had to swap a few wires at the ECU but that was the only thing special I had to do. Car ran and drove like stock. No D4 blinking or anything until near the end when the trans started to go. Been 5 speed for awhile now.

OK I ran into a few problems during first drive. Not good. Lost 1st gear and d4. Must be manually shifted between 2nd and d3. I believe a auto ecu and some tuning in the s300 software may require anything gear related to be set to zero. Not sure, don't thy this yet its not perfected, I'll let you a post as soon as it works perfect again.....

The ECU sends the lockout signal to the TCU...there may be pass thru info the TCU sees from the ECU, but Im not really certain on that.
Yes I have tuned an LS VTEC motor in a 94-95 Automatic LS Integra using the chipped Auto P75 ECU from that car.
I have heard of Prelude/Accord guys doing something similar using a P75 and the TCU from their car.
Ok i will be trying a p06 auto ecu since this is what I have laying around. I can't see there would be much difference between the p75 and p06 since I have a non-vtec engine anyhow h23a1. Thanks for the very helpful info!I believe there is pass thru info between the the ecu and TCU but its nothing major. I'll get to the bottom of this problem and find a fix. Any more info would be great from people who have done this.

D-series did not have a tcu
Like he said, a P06 will not work. I've been down this road. It took a lot of research and some help from Chris @ Xenocron to get it working. I can't recall all the details, but the auto P75 is made to work with a TCU and can control all 4 solenoids that an H/F series automatic has. P06 was not made to work with a TCU and can only control 2 solenoids. It's been awhile since I've looked at all that stuff.
I've got it running again. I used a integera p75 auto ecu setup with s300. I've not drove it because we just got a foot of snow. I see the blinking d4 is gone. I've gotta get a quick tune in and then hopefully snow will*melt. I'll post as soon as driving test is complete but it looks like a p75 can be chipped or s300 hondata. So let's get it right now. I swapped stock p14 for p75 both automatic odb1, seems to be working.
