Default d16 build in my 88 C REX

Whats up HT, i recently got into the lifestyle of driving a honda car, bought an 88 CRX with the d15 non v tech. i was wanting to do a B series build from bare block but im going into college in the fall so funds are a little low. Im considereing a d16 build, looking for decent HP and torque, any suggestions to ball on a budget?

Power goals? N/A or boosted? Budget?

Three things to consider.

Most whp of any D series ever is around 206whp.

Most whp of any boosted D series ever is around 790whp.

Decide where you want to go from there and research the cost of parts that will get you to your goal.

D15 can be built too. Either way starting with a mpfi conversion would be a great start.

When I was in my senior year of High school low funds for me, meant $150 bucks.... not $2000, which about what it is going to be for you to "build" anything. You can do bolts ons which wont really do a whole lot for the money.

If you want to "ball on a budget" I would keep the D15, do an A6 cam (not necessarily stock A6 cam however it is the cheapest), z6 intake, MFPI swap, P&P head, full exhaust, intake, and decent suspension setup. TruHarts mated with Stechs is a very functional suspension setup for $330.

Suspension alone, will make your car feel good.

well the plan is to take the d15 to its end while building on the stand and its a project build so im not trying to blow 2000 at one time but eventually will have well over that in it, im considering the b16a1 because im not looking to drag, just have a little fun in the streets with the title of "i built my car" but just the other day my buddys tranny in his 99 accord went out and he says i can have the F23a1 and all necessary swap parts out of it which still runs good so if im getting an almost complete swap for free then that might be the better option, im aware of the work that comes with it but what do u guys think i should do? again im in no hurry
