Icon6 D16 Y8 build

Hey I have a D16 Y8 head and am planning on finding a bottom and then building it. I am going to put YCP vitara pistons with eagle rods and ARP bolts in the bottom end. I was planning on replacing the springs in the valvetrain, I was just wondering if it would be worth it. I am trying to reach 300 HP after it is all said and done with the build and boost. Also how many cc injectors should i get? And would it be worth it to get a stage 2 cam shaft? Any information helps thanks.

building the bottom end like that is perfect but if ur gonna be boosting u have to get sum low compression pistons......the head can hold a lot.....I've meet Someone at the track running 11 flat with a stock head boosting 30 lbs n I not telling u to do it lol jus letting u kno but a cam will always be good it will reach ur 300 whp faster.....take ur time with ur build it will be better

To throw this out there. Will an I beam rod not require notching of the block?

Eagle rods will require block notching, possibly girdle notching. Id get better rods Though. Do some research, the pistons will not sit flush with the deck of the block with Vitaras. Compression will be more like 7:5:1.
Also, id get a little bigger injectors. Dsm 450s might do the job, but if you decide for more power, youll have to buy higher cc injectors.

Custom length rods will up the compression of the Vitaras to a more "usable" level.

Otherwise it will be a dog out of boost.
