Default Transmission Oil Change

Got a 02 civic and I need to change the tranny fluid since its been a while. What do you guys recommend? Just go to the dealer and buy it? My car is stock and it is a manual transmission. Wanted to check here to see what toyomatt thinks....:-)

► FAQ's and Guidelines - READ BEFORE POSTING!

Q: Which brand of fluid should I use?

- A: While many will debate the issue, it is recommended to use Honda fluids.
There's really no need to use something else.

I would agree on the honda ATF. I think the new DW1 is synthetic.

Not a problem.

His car has a manual transmission, though. Or are you not specifically referring to his car, just making a general statement in favor of HG fluids?

Honda M/T fluid is 10w30 with a pink dye for leak diag and an additive for shifting. 10w30 can be used. 2qts should be enough. It's like 1.7qts. Just pop the drain plug out with a 3/8" ratchet, and the fill plug with a 17mm. Get a syphon pump from HF and pump it in the fill plug.
