Default Good Compression Test Results?

Did a compression test on my 98 Honda Accord, 4 cyl.

Got 210psi right across. Is this possible? I followed all steps in the Haynes Manual accordingly.

Seems high. Do you have a good gauge?

Did you remember to keep the throttle body wide open while cranking the engine? I can't remember if the Haynes manual mentions that or not.

I'd swear I posted in this thread already.

Oil added should really only make a difference if you already got a bad reading in a cylinder.

@GhostAccord
I had the person who was the turning the car over push the pedal to the floor. Is that enough?

The gauge is fine, and yea I know it's a little high. Strange. Synthetic oil always, f23a4 engine I believe. Burns oil. Carbon deposits?

That is a lil high. About 184 is spec. I'll double check that though. Are you cranking 2 full compression cycles or are you cranking till the gauge stops climbing?

Manual told me to turn it over 7-8 times, so I guess two full cycles, and the gauge stopped climbing at about that point anyways.

Well next time you check watch the gauge and the second time the needle jumps, that's where your reading should be at. Make sure the fuel pump relay is removed so you don't wash down the cylinders. You'll get a low reading
