mini me questions
ok so long story short my d16z6 blew up and i picked up a d15 motor.
it is and
d15b8. with pm3 pistons so basically a d15b7
i am going to run a d16z6 vtec head.
my questions is. ive been hearings you need a d16y 7/8 cam gear because the z6 gear makes it 4 degs out of time even lined up properly.
is this true? has anyone did this? if you have a mini me let me know what you have and if your timing is set properly.
really want to get my car back on the road but i dont wanna put together and something go wrong

The y8 stuff is a lot different than any of the other single cam stuff. I have never heard of needing a y7/y8 cam gear and I have been doing hefty builds on the D's for a very long time
