B20 CRX Won't Start!
I purchased A 1990 CRX with the B20 Vtec swap. I drove the car for two days, then one day I decided to go for a little cruise. I hopped in the car and the car just continuously turns over with no spark throwing CEL 15 Ignition Output Signal. I tried a different distributer and still nothing, Im getting power to it though.
I also tried relays, Checked ecu, And checked all the grounds. The car is currently at another Honda Tech members garage being worked on. I figured I would make a post for further help.
I wanna also throw out there the the wiring throughout the car is a mess! Any suggestions? Would be highly appreciated! Thanks again guys!
I understand this could be in the wrong thread. But I wasnt getting any further information in Element/Crv. Even though it is a b20 engine. It is a 90 CRX.

There's voltage at the ecu ignitor output and at the dizzy, yet get no spark. Even tried a different ecu.**

Just for the hell of it...unplug the alternator and see if the car will fire up. Just the green plug that goes to it from the main harness. Had a very similar problem in my dads race car(back then it was a b20v crx). Turned out the voltage regulator in the alternator was bad. As a result, for some wild *** reason, no spark and the car would just crank and crank and crank. Spent a long time diagnosing that one and ended up finding the problem by pure fluke anyway. Replaced the alternator and problem solved. The car will just run off of the battery if the alternator is unplugged so dont worry, you are not going to mess anything up by doing it. Worth a try if nothing else.
Clean up the wiring too. The harnesses in those cars are 20 years old and who knows how many times they've been fucked with. I'm in the process of re-doing the electrical system in my dads car for the same reason. 20 years old, cracked wires, ghetto rigged ****, so many butt connectors...I spent about 5 hours just replacing wires, and removing butt connectors from the engine harness. So much soldering...

Wiring is one of those things that, if it looks bad it probably is. Anytime I get a car to tune that has 2 wiring problems before I get past tuning the idle, I send them away till they clean it up. Wiring can cause very odd problems that don't make any sense.
