Default Replace clutch safety switch? ('93 Civic)

So I've been driving my '93 civic for a while now with the clutch safety switch jumped (that is, I put a wire in the plug to complete the circuit) due to problems in the past with my ECU that I've since fixed.

I'm going on a road trip soon though, and as far as I know the cruise control won't work unless I have the safety switch hooked up correctly. When it is hooked up, I can't crank the engine at all.

I guess I'm asking, what would be a fix for this? Replacing the safety switch? and where would be a good place to buy one? Thanks

Honestly the dealer or autoparts store either one. If you order it online from advance you can use a promo code and save a couple of bucks. Have you troubleshot it to make sure it is the switch that's bad?

There are 2 seperate switches on the clutch pedal in my 1993 EX coupe. Usually what fails is the little plastic piece that is used to depress the switch. I had it bypassed for a while and never had a problem using my cruise. Granted this was the upper switch with the Biotch piece of metal trying to get the pad in. Is it your upper or lower switch that has a problem?

You're welcome.Since you already knew you needed to do just that, i find it a bit ironic that you had to ask for feedback.
Simplest route from here is to find an online service manual for the 92-95 civic download it, and check to see what needs to be done to replace it.

Just found out that I'm missing the rubber stopper that is supposed to depress the bottom switch. That one is for cruise control right? Should there be one on the top switch?

I know this isnt the best diagram but it will give you an idea of what is what.
There are several online honda parts distributors on the web.

The bottom switch I think is for the cruise, but not certain. I do know the top one is for starting the car and is the safety switch. There should be 2 stoppers on the cruise pedal.

Default ('93 Civic)

Ok so I've been having trouble with my 93 civic sedan starting... I've checked both clutch switches an they are good I've checked the starter cut relay the main relay all fuses an also put a new starter in it an still nothing... I've even disabled the alarm system in it... An still the same results it won't start all it does is make a clicking sound under the dash... I can push start it but it's a hassle 2 do that all the time... Just wondering if anybody here can help me figure this out... It's my project car I've had 4 over a yr it's got a mini me swap in it I've never had any problems wit it until now with it not starting... Thanks in advanced 4 the advice...
