kill switch for clutch????
so ive been looking for info on how to bypass the clutch safety switch and instead just have a switch to kill or engage the safety...i have a cruise control switch for my car ( mind you i do not have cruise control) i want to use that as the kill switch...i have seen cars befor ethat have switches so you can just start the vehichle without depressing the clutch, but im wondering if someone can shed some light on what i need to do before i just disconnect the wire and start splicing wires into a switch??? any info please?
Are you saying you want your. Car to start with the cruise control switch not the clutch switch?? It scary starting your car in gear its mainly for that reason?
you will need to ground out one of the wires for this to work, i can't remember which one but if you look at the wiring diagram it's easy enough to figure out.
it is potentially dangerous, but many cars didn't even come with a clutch switch.

If you want to eliminate the CIS then just disconnect the two leads at the CIS and connect them to the CC switch input and output, I DO NOT recommend doing this.
If you want to add a kill switch then disconnect the input lead, [most likely black] from the CIS run it to the CC switch input and run a lead from the CC switch output back to the CIS, that way you have a "stealth" kill switch, and still have the safety of the CIS.
What is the MM&Y of the car and MM&Y of car the CC switch is from? 94

Then it is simple, cut the black lead, [CIS input] at the CIS, extend the cut ends as needed so they will reach the CCs, connect extended leads to the CCs, it makes no diff. which way you connect them, the Civic CCs is a simple on/off switch. 94
