d16y8 swap in 2000 civic
ok so i really dont like my y7 in my 2000 hatch i want it to feel more like my z6 in my 92 si.. so im thinkin about buying a complete y8 swap.. now would the y8 just go right in with no problems or is there something i need to do..
It will bolt in yes. But you will need a P2P ECU. And if you dont want to run the wires to your ecu you will also need an obd2-b EX/Si Engine harness.
As far as cosmetics when its in, your y7 airbox is clearly different then the y8. So youll need the y8 air cleaner and airbox.

Unless the emissions portion of your state uses the obd2 port to pass then the P28 will fail. The differences in this swap are mostly electrical (3 to 2 wire IACV, VTEC and knock wiring) but also the throttle body rotors differ as well. If you do the swap make sure to get the EX transmission as well as it is shorter geared. You could also look into a mini me as well (check the faqs).
