I was racing and then the tranny made a big clunk noise. We tried running the car in the air and it still made the noise and the tires snap backwards as it hit that spot. I tired turning the tranny manually and it is smooth until it gets to a spot where it feels like it is stuck. It can be turned passed that manually, but feels rough. Help please. The tranny was not cheap to buy as an investment

 

What exactly are you wanting someone to say here? The only way your going to know what you broke is to open the trans up and see for your self or pay someone to do that for you.

 

i wanted to ask if there anybody who've had a similar problem and what was was the problem. if it cost too much to fix then i might just part it out or something

 

Your trans is gone...you wont know what there is to part out unless you do what surfingsk8r suggested.

 

diff gear and main shaft . fix for 300 if its a 4.4 final drive.

 

Drop it from the bay and tear her open, that's the only way to find out what broke. You're going to have to take it out anyways...

 

All these posts are common sense dude...

 

Split it open. Its intimidating at first. But its not that bad. If your anything like me, if you can take it apart, you can put it back together.

 

Thanks guys. I'm on a tight budget right now and saving up for it to get opened and fixed. I don't want to open it myself incase i do something wrong. Haven't opened one up before. Different from a motor
