Rattling Noise From Tranny??? HELP
I'm having a problem with my tranny. its a EK4 cx.
When i start to accelerate from first gear, the rattling starts, but once past 2,000 rpm the rattling quits.. this goes for every gear 1-5.. LOW RPM the rattling starts.
honestly i really dont know what the problem is.. I'm assuming that its the tranny, simply because i already tried to tighten all the heat shields around my exaust piping and headers.
i was thinking it MIGHT be that i need to change tranny fluid. but i dont know how to do that.. i really need help on this one.

most likely a bearing in the tranny this happend to my friends lx sorta sounds like metal chunks flying around then suddenly no noise. i replaced his whole tranny but when i took his old one apart it was the main bearing.

like i said, u can go in n rebuild but i wouldnt they r weak trans anyways. Drive easy n save for a swap, this is the exact reason y my car has a b16 w/ a strong gsr LSD so i dont have to worry bout the trans too much

I had a problem similiar to yours. A couple people thought it was main tranny bearing, and that I should just scrap it and get a new one. Everything is all good now after the swap.

Re: Rattling Noise From Tranny??? HELP (JDubbs99Civic)
thanks everyone..
motor swap does sound good!
but im planning on getting a bike after i sell it.
btw. i figured out what the problem was!...after everyone's tip, i decided to pull the headers out and put it back on snug..and i guess something was pinching and caused the heat sheilds to rattle.
thanks again everyone!
