ok have an automatic 1994 civic lx, issues are runs good for a while well now sometimes will crank but not turn over. Will let it sit and then it will finally start. After driving for a bit the check engine light will come on and sometimes car will just die while in motion, put it in park then it will crank back up drive a bit and do it again. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated as this is the vehicle my wife drives daily about an hour one way.

 

Check the CEL code.

 

Well the cel wasn't on when my wife got home, tried to check the obdI code, and the car started and ran fine, which is the main probem. It will run fine for a long time won't crank or cut off whie driving, I just don't get what's wrong.

 

There was no code came on without cel lighting up at al

 

If the CEL doesn't stay on all the time, more than likely it's either a bad ECU or faulty wire.
