Default CEL came on then car died. More to the story now. Please read. Need help

I have a b18b1. So I was driving my car home and the CEL came on and the motor cut off. I tried starting it up and it just wants to crank and not start. I tried to check the code but it just gives me a solid CEL. Last week the CEL came on and it was giving me a code for the Cylinder Sensor then it went off. You guys think the distributor could have gone bad? I also tried pushing and popping the clutch and that didn't work either. Any thoughts and ideas would be great. I also changed the plugs and wires last week. Not sure if that would have anything to do with it

Maybe you have a fried ECU? This sounds very uncharacteristic, even for a Honda electrical problem.

And that your car can't give you the code properly.

I'm not positive, but if you've got everything setup correctly to pull the codes, and you're not getting any; it's likely the ecu is fried. But I would check all the ecu connectors and main engine harness connectors to be sure.

If you have a full in bumper CAI, maybe you hydrolocked? I don't know characteristics of that though.

No CAI for me. The water gets to high for me around this area.

Get back to basics.

Does the fuel pump prime?

Is there spark at the plugs?

Pull a plug wire off a spark plug and lay it on the valve cover where you can see it from inside the car. Crank the engine over and see if you have spark arcing from said plug wire.

if its an EG

check fuse #24 (ACG)

mine blows and throws a solid cel cause i have a exposed fuel pump wire and it gets grounded and blows it

and for anyone wondering, a solid cel (even when jumped) is Code = 0 (ecu)

edit: thx for the correction ron

Actually, fuse 24 is the ACG fuse for 92-95 Civics.

So I went to check my car. Started right up and no CEL. I just wanted to make sure this wasn't a fluke. Checked for a CEL and now its showing 13 BARO - atmospheric pressure sensor. What could possibly cause this?

Misinformation here. When the jumper harness is jumped and your cel stays solid you have no codes, and it also confirms its in diagnostics mode so you can now adjust ignition timing when it needs it.

Code 0 is indicated when the CEL remains on steady both with and without the service connector jumped.

According to the factory service manual for code 13:

1. Do the ECU reset procedure. Take out 7.5AMP BACK UP fuse from the under hood fuse box for 10 seconds. (Make sure you have the radio code before hand if you are using the factory radio as this will reset it). Replace fuse.

2. Recheck for code. If code is still there try a known working ECU. If code goes away your ECU is bad.

Thanks. I will try this. Do you happen to know what kind of affect this would have on the motor if i was to drive it since it starts?

Pulled the back up fuse and replaced it. Rechecked for code and its gone. I'm stumped. So do i have a bad ECU? Because this (2. Recheck for code. If code is still there try a known working ECU. If code goes away your ECU is bad.) confuses me.

Because it through a fake code, I think. If it was good, the code would come back due to memory but that's just my educated guess.

The ECU is probably just fried and throwing ridiculous stuff. Once again, my educated guess.

At this point, do nothing unless a problem arises or the CEL turns on again.
