defective knock sensor?
hello all jimbo here, i have a 1998 accord f23a1 5speed and im throwing the knock sensor code, so i replaced it and drove it around allllllll week and the code will not go away, i disconnected the battery for a bit, checked it with a multimeter and cleared the code with my scanner but still comes back on, any ideas of what to do next? btw the car has 169K miles if that helps
Have you verified the timing is correct?
Use a stethoscope, or large screwdriver, or broom stick and place it against the block and the other end against the side of your head near your ear. Do you hear any knocking or other noises?

they are sending me out another sensor in case this 1 is defective and if that doesnt fix the issue then ecu will be inspected for any burnt marks and if that doesnt work then off to the service station
What is the exact diagnostic code that you are getting?
If wire is fine and sensor is good should start looking at your ignition timing and fuel. Check your spark plugs and see if any of them are really black or chalky white.

There are only three listed issues for that particular DTC.
• Short/open in knock sensor circuit
• Knock sensor
• ECU
Good luck! Hope it was just the sensor
