Default 4.05 Final Drive

Anyone running a 4.05 drive on the street with lots of power? Instead of artificially making my gears alonger by throwing a stupid big tire on it (235/60/15 M/H) Id like to keep a 24" tire. This car is mainly street driven with a 4.226 FD on a GSR trans.

It'll help but it's not like it'll be a WORLD of difference. I ran the 4.05 FD a long time ago and loved it. I went through a couple stock 4.4 and 4.26 FDs and the 4.05 lasted way longer for DD and drag racing. No more stripping the gears off.

mine made a WORLD of difference on my car. went from a b16 to a gsr 1-4th and ls final. better 60,1/8th and was using way more of my power band. but at 500whp i rung off 4 stock final drives. always shitty tracks tho and would wheel hop at the top of first and thats all it took. i bought a m factory 4.05 but never used it. still have it if anyone is looking. b16/ls bolt pattern.

Is that the pro series gear or the street/strip gear?

I'm pretty sure it is just the revised 4.923 gear that has the extra holes.

The only visual difference in the PRO and Street/Strip or Road/Race final drives is the color and finish due to the WPC.

Evans Tuning installed the 4.05 Mfactory Final drive in my 500whp ITR. They also put in the MFactory 3.07 1st Gear, GSR 2nd Gear and LS 5th gear. I have not tracked the car yet but I have put over 5000 miles on this setup on the street and I have been very pleased with it versus the stock gear ratios and final drive. With boost-by-gear and high performance summer tires the car is much more driveable over the previous setup and gets better mpg.
