Default Cheap gauge-type sandwich plate to feed vtec head?

I had a blox oil sandwich plate on my boosted ls for some time now. Its just the regular oil sandwich plates that have the ports that get oil pressure pre filtered. I recently added a vtec head and have the vtec oil feed line going to one of the ports on the sandwich plate. I didnt realise that the oil sandwich plates that come in the vtec conversion kits were different until i had already fabbed up the -6an for the existing sandwich plate. Supposedly the ones in the vtec conversion kit get clean oil post oil filter. Will this cause any problems with my vtec engagement? It seems like vtec isn't working on my setup. It gets oil pressure regardless I would believe. I'm going to buy a proper golden eagle sandwich plate regardless but now i'm curious to see if its the sandwich plate that is causing vtec not to activate. The solenoid is getting power. Anyone have their vtec head fed by a plain oil sandwich adapter?

I had one on my b20v pre filter and then post later, never had probs with either and neither were name brand. You most likely have other issues, such as missing o-ring on #3 cam cap, internal head(rocker arm) problem, bad ecu, bad wiring, dirty vtec screen. Hard to say but HIGHLY doubt sandwich plate is the problem

Just realized you mentioned -6 oil feed line. That may be to large to supply enough oil pressure at head for it to engage, i read another vtec prob thread and turned out the guy also had large oil supply lines and stop engagement

I have a blox sandwich plate with a -6 feed line to the head. This is on a lsv-t and never had a problem with vtec engaging. It sounds like you have a different problem.

Ok just wondering. Yea i did all the troubleshooting for vtec already. Its hard to tell if its activating but it probably is. I have a 6765 precision top mount and built motor so when boost comes in it sounds like war lol. Im hitting the dyno soon so i will know for sure when we see the power curve.

Huh? What i mean is that its hard to tell if it is working while driving. The turbo spools right when vtec activates so thats where i start making good power. Wastegates dump to atmosphere which also makes extra noise at that rpm. So its very hard to audibly hear or feel vtec on a setup such as this. Makes sense to me. Everything checked out good when i followed the helms manual so hopefully all is well

Sorry for the wording as i was only trying to allow him to understand the meaning of "a mute point".
