Hey guys, tried searching but have found no answer. I recently got an EJ1 and I've been looking at lips for it but I don't want an over the bumper mounting lip like the abs Type R style or abs Mugen style lips. I want a lip that mounts under the bumper like the OEM SiR lip. I used to have a 95 DC4 with a Mugen style that i had to make holes in the bumper to mount and every time I hit a speed bump the corners of the lip would rise up after bottoming out on the pavement and rash up the paint or tear out the screws in the middle. I'd rather a lip that stays on the bottom of the bumper and doesn't move when I hit something. I'd also rather it break under the bumper instead of banging up my paint. I looked at Spoon style and BYS style lips but none show how they mount. I would only see that they recommend using 3M double sides tape when mounting. Wtf? So anyways any help would be appreciated. If push comes to shove I will just get an SiR lip but I really want something closer to the ground without dropping the car more. I'm already 2.5 inches low in the front and 2.0 in the back. Please keep any stupid comments, if any, to yourself. I just wanna get an idea about what kind of lips are out there for this car, what others are using, and experiences with them.

Aren't the EX/Si the same as the SiR and where can I get a BYS that mounts OEM style?

Yes they are. Actually, the Si never came with a lip, the VX hatchbacks did though (mad aerodynamics y0!) As of 2 years ago you could still buy them new from Honda for about $100.

 

Cool, never knew that. Lol. I'm still curious about what lips out there mount using the OEM mounting points. I hate those over the bumper mounting lips.

 

So, if I was to find an OEM type-r lip, it would fit the EJ1?

So many 92-95 Civic owners on here and no one has a solid answer? Someone please show me how your BYS, Spoon, or WWRS style lip is mounted.
