ok i have been searching because i swapped my trans a few months ago and now i have a very slow leak from my trans from what looks like both axles. the axles have a slight gap between them and the trans and i cant get them in any more and they are hard to take out so they should be locked in
so i think they are fine. its just like this old thread https://honda-tech.com/forums/honda-civic-del-sol-1992-2000-1/slight-gap-between-axle-tranny-%3D-bad-pics-inside-1532126/
so my question is if my car is parked for a day or 2 and i get maybe a like 3 inch wide circle of fluid does this sound about right for my axle seals going bad? or could my gap possibly just be slightly to far.
also while im driveing does it leak more fluid/ make the seal get alot worse? im debating if i should just keep topping off the trans (and wait for winter when the car will be parked) or replace it now
also the trans i put in is a 91 si trans that had been sitting for about 3 years in a garage. so im thinking the seals may have dry rotted or something

Not that it'll help. But I have that issue on my passenger side axle. It keeps throwing fluid all over the place and the cv axle is all wet. Starting to **** me off as I already replaced the seal, then got it professionally replaced and it's still doing it. It's definately tranny fluid. It's not spilling bad, but it does make quite a mess like the cv axles would if the boot is torn.
I recommend replacing the tranny axle hole seals first as it's cheap and easy to do, slide the old one out, and slide the new one in. make sure it slides in flush and not crooked. Of course you have to take out the axles to do this.

the driver side axle is from a 2000 ex coupe ( i had it laying around from a car i parted out, the kid i got it from said he had it replaced at a shop under 3000 miles ago and it looks brand new). the guy at auto zone said all the specs were the exact same. he was actually amazed that they were the same but promissed me that it would work. just curious if anyone on here can back that up. or if anyone thinks this is my problem maybe like a 1/32 shorter or something and this is causing the gap? im still 90% sure on the seals cause it sat out for a while but just asking
