Default JDM B18C SPOON

Okay I know this has probaly been asked but I couldn't find anything about what I'm about to ask. So hears whats going on I got a JDM B18C ITR with a certified spoon stamp on the block number 06246. The ECU is a P73 with no spoon labels like the ones I saw when I was looking at online. The car is running very sluggish right now when in the gears but when vtec engages it pulls hard. Do I need a spoon ecu or of course hondata with a tune? I could of swore that I read an article years back that spoon made engines for the ITR correct me if Im wrong? Please someone out there help me with this problem. I would deeply appreciate you guys experience, knowledge, and inputs.

did you check the cams in that engine? importers love to toss random ecus that appear close at engine combos. the 98+ ecu is common so it often comes with 96-97 engines for example.

spoon did a lot of suff most of which was blueprinting engines. a cam change away from oe itr cams would be my first guess on why it's running weird. when you changed the timing belt did you pay attention to the cams at all?

The spoon b18c is hardly different from stock. They balance the parts a little closer than the factory does. They may have a thinner head gasket to bump compression. Chances are slim but maybe it has the cams, valve springs or cam gears added. But the stock ecu should run the motor just fine. Maybe your problem is elsewhere....you don't need the spoon ecu.
