Default d16y8 dipstick relocation

got a d16y8 i picked up for $100 and i'm currently rebuilding it. I wanna use a z6 oil pump. can the block be drilled out and have a z6 dipstick tube installed in the z6 location? or am i stuck with using a obd2 pump that has the dipstick inside of it.

thanks

I wouldn't even try it. I'm sure you could, but I honestly wouldn't trust it.

Why do you want to run a Z6 pump?

If you want to do it because you think the Z6 oil pump pushes more oil, you are incorrect.

You want a Z6 rank. Not the pump.

A good runing y8 for $100 is a good deal.

Shop around. I find bare blocks all the time with cranks, cranks for sale, etc. Just insure the crank isn't damaged.

You can port and shim a y8 pump to help with the lack of oil holes... also you can increase your clearences on the crank alittle to help with oil. The y8 had alittle tighter clearences on the crank.

Try and find blocks that people have snaped rods or such in.. I find them around me all the time for 50 bucks, get the crank micro polished
