Default homemade icebox

i need to put the last finishing touches on my homemade icebox. bought a cheap *** intake pipe at autozone, connected to a comptech air filter, took out the resonator but now i need to down pipe under the stock box. anyone else here have one? i have no idea where to get a pipe that would connect to the bottom of the stock air box that leads to the turn signal. i want to get 3" piping which is bigger compared to comptech's 2.5" (correct me if im wrong.) any of you guys have any ideas where i can get a pipe that would go from the bottom of the airbox to the turn signal and how can i connect it to the bottom of the airbox. the hole underneath the airbox isnt totally circular, its more like a rectangle with rounded sides, i have no idea how to get a pipe to connect to that. please help, thanks.

I used 4" flex tubing(dryer hose) for the time being. I ran the tubing to a funnel shaped gizmo I constructed out of aluminum and mounted behind the right side intake hole in my WW air dam. I also put some black mesh screen over it. Looks good(you can't see any of the dryer hose) works perfectly.

I also used some 3" dryer hose or aluminum duct hose..whatever you want to call it....molded it to fit in the airbox hole and ran it to the turn signal area...because its flexible u can shape it any way u want...so it shouldnt be hard to put it through the airbox hole....

You can go to my webpage at http://www.geocities.com/bretq/DIY_Icebox_CAI.html for complete step-by-step instructions (with photos and materials list) for making your own DIY "Icebox". Once painted and installed it looks and performs just like the Comptech Icebox, but at a fraction of the cost.

Let me know if you have any questions.

Not if you use the 3" thin-walled PVC. It is thinner and pliable when compared to regular PVC. Just an FYI, Home Depot and Lowes DO NOT carry 3" thin-walled PVC.

Hey! Thanx allot Bret. I was having fun with that too.

Never seen the wimpy stuff. The dryer hose has done the trick for me, but it is rather flimsy stuff.

cut the black tube off the resonator and use taht to connect to the bottom of the stock air box. it angles towards the turn signal, you might want to extend it, but it will do the job. mine is doing fine without an extension.

Yep ...a lot of people are hitting my website...which is both and . Geocities has something in place which limits the number of hits to their free websites . All that I can suggest it to retry the link periodically. Sorry for the inconvience .

Someone mentioned Ace Hardware to me. I haven't checked Ace Hardware, so I cannot confirm whether they have it or not. I buy mine at a Do it Best hardware store.
