Default D15B Vtec Turbo Build

Whats Up HT..

I am currently wanting to build my recent pick up a D15B Vtec. I have heard many stories and read many threads and haven't really gotten clear answers on what I need to know to do my build, I figured I should try and make a thread of my own and maybe post some progress that I get through.

My Goal is to reach around 350 HP, I am wanting to build the block and head and get a decent turbo setup, I am on somewhat of a budget but not a low budget like alot of these people ask for help..

Questions..?
Is it required to notch the block when get aftermarket rods?
What are the best cams for a turbo setup in this HP range?
What would the best Pistons be, I have read about CP and Vitara, I am deciding on either of those really.
I am interested in installing an LSD, How do I even go about doing that? I am new to transmissions.
Any other upgrade suggestions would be appreciated.

Upgrades Done
Competition Stage 5 Clutch
Competition 7.5 LB Flywheel

I haven't done much but hoping to make some progress by hearing from you guys. Thanks.

Do yourself a favor and read the FAQs and look through similar build threads. You're not re-inventing the wheel. It's already been done many times over. Right now, pardon me for saying, it sounds like you haven't got a clue.

yes all rods require notching the block

What are the best cams for a turbo setup in this HP range?

Bisimoto turbo cam. id say the 2.4 stage cam

the best pistons are vitara in my opinion, for boost at least. nice compression rations with these vitara/rod combo

I'm just happy that the op used decent grammar and spelling. I was able to make perfect sense of his post. As a reward, here: https://honda-tech.com/forums/forced-induction-16/%2A%2A%2Aforced-induction-forum-faq%2A%2A%2A-1024174/

Thanks for helping me answer some questions that I could not find or may of overlooked..And well the D15B seems more powerful then the Regular z6, I have beat a few buddies and they have had B series, but who says they know how to drive either. Also thanks for the information again.

Yep the D15B Vtec is the best D series made it made more power than the D16Z6 and D16Y8.

Yes I believe that is also has a higher compression as well. The head is the same as the Z6 though other than the cam IIRC.

I turboed my stock block d15b with a garrett t3 super 60 on 6psi and got 200hp and 156tq. Ran it for 3years until recently when I pulled it out and sold it to go bigger. Never let me down or broke down. Great setup

If you're willing to spend the extra cash....CP hands down. And I think a 9.0.1 comp ratio is the sweet spot...
