Default y1 tranny worth rebuilding?

I'm trying to go boost (only ~250hp) in a ek w a b16. Im determining if i should rebuild my tranny or get a different one. Money is somewhat tight, so my plan was to buy a synchro kit for 1-5 and a new diff bearing because tranny was beginning to grind 3rd and 2nd. Any recommendations?

ALSO the bellhousing has a little crack, can i replace w any cable b series housing?

thanks

Buy one that's already rebuilt perhaps.
If you're just going for horsepower and not times I wouldn't be worrying about the transmission. Used Honda transmissions are cheap.

You can pick up a rebuilt tranny almost anywhere for about 600.00.
Rebuilding yours unless you have the skills to do it will cost you more in parts and time to pull repairn and put back in.

You could do that.

Yeah and that's the problem sadly! Best case scenario would be able to test it out before driving and make a mark on it to make sure it's the same transmission. BUUUUT, that's rare to happen.

You can determine ^this without needing to drive it. Request you and seller open up the trans and give a good visual inspection.
