I BOUGHT THIS CAR FROM A FRIEND BUT I WAS DRIVING TO WORK AND A WATER HOST WAS LEAKING AND MY CAR IS OVERHEATING . I CHANGE THE WATER HOST BUT NOW I HAVE AN OIL LEAK FROM THE HEAD . MY ENGINE STARTER DOESN'T WORK. I HAVE TO HIT IT FOR TURN ON THE ENGINE . I WANT UPGRADE MY REGULAR ALTERNATOR FORM 90 AMP > 130 AMP I DON'T KNOW IF I WILL DAMAGE THE ECU??.. AND WHAT OTHERs UPGRADE I CAN DO BEFORE I CHANGE THE HEAD GASKET???

AND THE MOST IMPORTANTE .....

HOW CAN I CHANGE THE HEAD GASKET AND WHAT KIND OF HEAD I HAVE ???

The block and head are both stamped with their codes. Read the code. We can't magically tell you what kind of head you have.

Also, there's a lot of knockoff parts under that hood.

 

where are the code located?

 

Looks like a d16y8?? But the stamp will be on the right of the header..

Yep looks like a Y8
the code will be on the front of the engine as you are looking at it and will be to the left of the header.
it will look like this...

 

NOT a Y8. Dipstick is in the wrong place.

LOL I love the 2 strut bars. Get rid of the Ebay one and keep the OEM one but repaint it black like it should be. Your Mugen VC is a knock off also.

 

I don't think there are any "real" mugen parts on that car at all. It appears the previous owner took a bottle of black spray paint, and just shot the whole engine bay, over the bolts/mounts, everything except the engine.

To use a beefier alternator should not be an issue, that is what a regulator is for

 

Considering that' a 5th gen engine bay it's probably just an old Z6.

You never answered this question. Although I'm pretty sure its a D16Z6 (Although you seem like English is a 2nd language. Where are you from? Engine codes might be different in your country). Unless its some Mini-Me swap.

The Poster b18c5-EH2 has some valid points that talk alot about your situation.

Cliff note: Buy a new engine, because yours has a **** load of problems and D16's are cheap.
