Default Crank bolt removal 101...

A startling discovery has just been made. It may in fact be the easiest manner in which to loosen/tighten a crank bolt. The 'tool' I used was a spare throttle cable mount but any metal of comparable thickness and shape will work.

1. remove starter
2. insert 'tool' between clutch pressure plate and fly wheel
3. rotate crank until the 'tool' contacts the transmission housing
(if you like you can wrap the edge which contacts the housing to prevent damage)
4. i easily removed and then later tightened my crank bolt using this method
(i threaded a piece of wire through the 'tool' just to play it safe, wouldn't want it to get pulled into the transmission)

Its not a crank bolt though. Those are pressure plate\clutch\flywheel bolts.

Locking the flywheel will allow you to loosen the crank bolt.

Same has and can be done through the access plate under the engine/transmission.
Downside is that if the bolt is REALLY tight, then you CAN crack your transmission housing.
It's been done before.

And to think i had pioneered an uncharted approach.

That's what I get for showing off.

you can also put a breaker bar and and have the end touch the floor and just crank the motor for a sec

No you can't. The D/B/H/F engines spin CCW. If you do that, you'll either break the bolt or the breaker bar.

Not to mention you can break the teeth on the flywheel.

Breaking the crank pulley bolt off the right way isn't all that hard with the right tools. It took longer to get the bolts/prybar in place than it took to actually break the bolt loose.

Also, always lift unless your pushing down and are pull up something else. You can only push down how much you weigh. Pulsing as your applying pressure works very well also.
