Icon3 integra problems, any help is much appreciated!

ok so im a long time lurker first time poster, ive been on Houston-imports and unfortunately i couldnt get any help.

ive search the forum for the problem and no results, unless i overlooked something and you guys could point me in the right direction

problem:

-1995 integra gs, with b18c swap

-everything running fine

-one day go to start car, car dies

-i have power, lights come on and off

-no sensors though

-checked all fuses one was out, replaced, still nothing

-i can hot wire the car by hooking up a "hotwire" from one of the diizzy wires to the battery, and sensors come on, if i do do this i can turn key, car begins to chugga chugga, car starts fine. unhook the wire from dizzy or battery, car dies instantly while key is turned.

-i HAVE power but no sensors are coming up.

ANYTHING helps guys, and i appreciate the read and help in advance

Well, to start, what fuse was blown? Have you checked back to verify that it did not blow again after you replaced it?

ok so youre saying you have to give power to the distributor and it runs?so that would mean the distributor isnt getting power...id look into the ignition switch or the main relay.

Please find out what fuse blew and replace it. Then see if it fixes your problem.

So: Your car does not crank? Or does it crank but does not start?

What do you mean "no sensors." What fuse did you replace?

1. fuse that was blown has been replaced

2. when you put your key in the car there are "clicks" usually the second click all of the sensors come up on cluster, and you hear the beep . . .beep . . .beep noise letting you know your keys are in the car and your door is open. well . . . . .i dont get that, when i turn key nothing comes up on cluster, no alarm, nothing. so car wont crank, or turn

but as i stated before, i can use a "hot wire" and hot wire the car from the distributor to the battery, and car will start AND run, but as soon as i disconnect the wire the car stops.

so advised by someone, im going to replace my ignition switch, and my distributor (nothings wrong with it but its gonna need replacing so might as well) and go from there, unless you may have any other suggestions

I would check the ignition switch. Have seen several where the contacts are burnt and will not allow enough current through to power up the car. Sounds like by hotwiring the distributor you are just back feeding the system.

I would do one at a time. Leave the distributor until you fix this problem first. No since in creating more problems, by shotgunning parts at the car.

Got to agree with the above, sounds like you are "back-feeding" power to the ign. switch, it will depend on what wire, [color] on the distributor your jumping to, if it is the black/yellow, then you are back-feeding... http://www.visualimpressions.ca/switch/ 94

Not necessarily, the car runs when he "back-feeds" power from the batt. into the ign. circuit through the power lead to the distributor assembly, or so it sounds like, OP has yet to confirm color of wire he is jumping power to. 94
