if I get a new wire harness for the fog lights how do I know if the wires in the harness are in the right place.

 

In your first post, you MUST provide all pertinent information about your car.

Also describe how the lights were installed.

But for most civics, it goes as follows; wire connects to battery. Which runs into relay. Than there are two wires that come out and go all the way around the front of the car. One wire is for the ground and the second is for the power. That. Ground than connects on to the chasis of the car and the other wore runs into the cabin which connects to the under dash fuse box. Than finally the fog light switch...and run a 15 amp fuse rather than the cheap 30 amp eBay gives you. Its that simple..

 

The irony here, like many of the botched/blown/fire aftermarket fog installs, is the OEM kit is only about twice the price of the Ebay stuff if bought online, and won't have any issues.

Sooo, by the time you have to replace the harness or foglight switch which seems to happen with 95% of these Ebay items, you could have just bought the OEM lights to begin with.
