Default foglight help

I got a free pair of fog lights from my friend for a 96-98 square style. Anyways they didnt have the connector that just connects and hooks up so I had to wire them to my turn signal light. After I connected the first one and tuned on the parking light(the one were you twist the **** once for only your side lights not the whole headlight) it worked so I turned it off and did the other. After I got the second one hooked up none of them turned on! Now my parking lights and turn signal doesnt work anymore, could it be a blown fuse?

Since you have the foglights, go ahead and head down to pepboys and purchase a Pilot 12v harness kit. It comes with a relay, fuse, switch, and the necessary wires for ground and such. It's only 20 bucks too.

I already have the harness and everything but one of the connectors were ripped off the actual fog light so I want to connect them that way. How can I connect them to my parking lights without blowing a fuse sorry but I suck with electrical

What? if you have the depo/oem harness (they're somewhat similar) why would u want to connect them to the parking lights?

I have depo but it doesnt matter I dont have the plug for one of them, and plus I would rather connect it to my parking lights so they turn on by themselves I dont want to have to push a button in case I for get haha

you are blowing fuses because they require additional current and the fuse cant handle it. if you are willin to risk setting your car on fire you could try using higher amp fuses but i would recommend just wiring them independantly so they have a button. crispy cars are no fun

Ok like I said I dont wanna do the whole wiring for the button plus it will turn on by itself, so anyways basically I have a power and ground wire on the foglights and I tapped into the power and ground wire from the parking lights. If I put a fuse betweed the power wires will it keep it from blowing? The fuse is 7.5 if I replace it with a 10 will that help?

placing a fuse between the wires wont do anything other than add a fuse to possibly blow, but yes if you use a 10 amp fuse or possibly a 15 amp fuse it will most likely stop it from blowing. deffinatly use the lowest amperage you can. but remember those fuses are there for a reason. you could be fine, but you have been warned of the danger of starting your car on fire. GOOD LUCK!

Use the harness, it will take about 15 minutes since you already have the fogs mounted. You said yourself that you are not good with electrical, it will be far easier using the harness than trying to tap into parking lights and making it work. As for the broken plug just get spade connectors and attach them to the broken side.

Yes that is a good idea. To ensure a good connection you should use spade connectors. You can buy them at any hardware store or even Walmart. A sleeve would be a good alternative to this. Those just look like a plastic tube with metal on the inside. You just crimp it onto the wire on the foglights then crimp the other end onto the wire on the harness.

You're not supposed to run a fog(55Wmin) off a sidemarker(5Wmax). Run power from the underdash fuse box, there should be multiple aux ports that are male quick disconnect. One runs hot all times, one when running lights are on, one when in acc, one in on. relay should be used unless you got a 20A toggle switch. power both light off the switch or relay. I had the proper wiring diagram some where.
