97 R motor hydrolocked

Default 97 R motor hydrolocked

i was driving on a rainy day the other day until a big puddle comes up i have a long cold air intake water got inside the motor now it doesnt wanna crank over could be possibly a bent rod or might need a cranshaft i wanna know how much my car worth was thinking about sellin it complete 97R clean title

have you tried to spin the crack over by hand with a socket and breakerbar?

pull the spark plugs, put it in nutral, does it turn over by hand? If not can you turn it backwards?

I tried all that already it doesnt wanna turn over i also took out the sparkplugs disconnected the fuel pump tried cranking it the motor just clicks :/

Biggest reasons why cold air intakes are utterly worthless...too many cases of this happening.

yea i know it sucks my mechanic going to take the block apart and go from there

i wouldn't even pay the mechanic. Put the car up on jack stands, pull the pan and look for damage.

Also, pull the plugs, then drivers front wheel. Try to turn the motor over by hand at the crank.

Also, you could look down the spark plug holes and see if you see any damage.

I would only pay a mechanic to break down the motor if you plan to rebuild it. Otherwise you are dumping money. The car will definitely be worth more with the original motor. You may also want to check with your insurance company, as some premiums cover hydrolocking the motor.

Not that useful, a buddy of mine had the bypass valve and he still managed to suck up water.
