take out the spark plugs and try to start the motor. Then drain the oil and replace it. Depending on how much water got sucked in it might get it all out and the motor may be salvageable

Happened to me too man. I took my motor out, took everything apart, my rods were bent into a perfect C. Gives you an excuse to get a motor swap.

Any d-series will work with your tranny. I might suggest a d16z6 (came out of the 92-95 ex) They are cheap and fairly easy to find.

if your religious, its God telling you deserve a new motor! K20A2 now foo! swap that **** in!

oh yea the next time you do CAI, make sure you get an AEM bypass valve... i have heard many cases personally as well. Especially a RSX type S...brand new...some guy dropped in a CAI...went thru a puddle, had to pay $7 or $8 Gs to get the dealer to replace the motor........

a friend of mine had that happen and all he did was take off the intake manifold and flushed the throttle body and flushed out the motor. the car worked jus as fine after. seemed a lil faster too

happened to me a while ago...... i took off the spark plugs and started the car just barely and pushed all the water out off from the block..... did the whole flush, drained oil, put new oil... etc..... took the manifold apart and made sure all was dry and still well...... to make a long story longer.... after all the frustration....... the car ran for about two weeks and blew it completely..... save yourself the hassle and start looking for another motor. damn rain in motor

good luck man

sooooooooo true. you never know what is wrong unless you pull the oil pan and the head to check for bent rods or busted valves

easiest thing to do is get the exact same engine

u cannot swap d series engines with trannys...

take off those sparks, and turn over the engine...

the reason ur engine hydrolocks is cause water doesnt compress, and yes depending on how much water u sucked in your engine may still be good

if u sucked in alot u can expect some bent rods.. if just a lil itll be fine.. maybe slightly bent but itll run till u can get a new engine

HAHAHAHAHAHA That has to be the stupidest thing I've heard all night. If they aren't interchangable then why is a buddy of mine running a d16y8 tranny on his JDM d15b? If you can't swap the trannys on d series then why are half the d series owners running a z6 or y8 tranny on their d16y7, d15b7, d16y5 and so on? because ALL D SERIES ARE INTERCHANGABLE!

Thank you and have a good night.

ALL D-series trannies will bolt up to ALL D-series engines, well known fact.

This had to be more than a "puddle". My friend and I had cold air intakes for years and I've driven in every kind of rain and never sucked up water. Still, all these stories are making me want to get a hot air for my new car.

A buddy of mine just did the exact same thing as you 2 days ago. His motor IS hydrolocked so he definitely has to get a new one. Sucks for him. If you need a motor,....Ive got a d16 (92 si motor) if you need one.

CAI sucks man! I have heard that even that bypass thingy dont work! do what I did, I put dualies into my ride. one facing the fender and one by the hole where the old box used to be! PERFECT for a little bit cold air. I have like no scanner so I can't post it for you to see but someday i'll post it!
