98 Integra smoking HELP!
HELP! Hey guys i have a 98 integra had head redone due to burnt valve, seals were done and head surfaced, after putting head back on car started 1st kick and idled/runs great, let it run for about 10 minutes, with no smoke or leaks then came the problem, if you rev it up over 2000 rpm it smokes (oil) pulled plugs and all 4 cylinders had some nice clean oil on top of each piston, pcv valve is not plugged, i have ran it probably for 2 hours total trying to figure this out, could the shop have screwed up the new valve guide seals? did a compression check and all 4 cylinders are between 190 and 195, im stumped, again oil doesnt seem to get into the cylinders unless its over 2000 rpm, any suggestions

usually if rings are bad,it will smoke when you get on it a little..but you say you have good compression,so i would guess(with the recent head job) that the valve guide seals are screwed..
but really sounds like a problem with the rings..

thanks guys what throws me off of the ring theory is that the car didnt smoke/burn oil before the burnt valve. it has 130,000 miles on it. what would make all 4 rings go out? i keep going back the idea the seals are somehow wrong because i cant come up with any other avenue for the oil to get into the cylinders especially all 4. theres no way it could somehow travel through the intake right im stumped

put a spoonful of oil in each cylinder and check compression.if it goes up significantly, its the rings.do one at a time.if your compression stays relatively the same, then you can move on to inspecting the top end.
sorry i cant help on the reason of why rings go out, they get beat up just like any other part in a car,but this test will lead you in the right direction.give us an update and post compression results.
