Default Brand new turbo shaft play

Hey I have a brand new turbo precision 3231e I bought from a vendor on here. The turbo has a little bit of side to side but not enough to contact the housing. I've been reading a lot of shaft play threads and have gotten mixed answers whether this is normal or not. I can move it enough that I can see it visibly move.

This is rough estimate since I don't have a precise measuring tool, but if the clearance between the fins and the housing is about 1mm, than I'd say the side to side I got is about .5mm around there. Is this normal for a new turbo?

heres a vid of the play:

I think a VERY slight amount of side to side is normal, the new precision turbos ive installed have it.

shaftplay is normal... all turbos have to have a minor amount of play or the oil would have no where to go....

Then what do people mean when their turbos have "no shaft play". is that even possible? won't their bearings fail sooner if that was really the case.

that means the turbo doesnt have any abnormal shaft play...
