Right now I just got a new greddy profec b. Seems cool. But I am not used to the way it is. What do you guys prefer?

Sorry, there was not any tech. Just seeing what other prefered. I rather have some that says psi then % imo. It does the job. Was thinking of going to the aem unit and selling or trading this one. This is not a fs thread.

Depends upon use of the car. For those that use it for circuit/street attack, and hot AND cold weather conditions, GReddy. AEM for those that use Boost by gear or other features, and turbosmart because..well, they can.

i have used the aem true boost for a while but i just recently switched to a voodoo 4 manual boost controller. i feel its so much faster to achieve my boost settings. i ran my two lines threw my fire wall and the controller is right under my wheel. so i just reach with one hand and turn a screw and lock it down. its quite simple you dont have to push buttons and their are no spikes at all. plus it makes a ssshhhh sound under my dashboard lol.

That's because your check valve is not completely sealed against the back of the unit. Once that on there the hissing goes away. You give up too easily without understanding what you purchased or why. Tell you what. I'll buy it off you for $100 bucks just to put it on my brother's car, and show you how it works.

don't give up so easily, stop trying to get what "everyone else preferred' because that is no way to get an objective opinion about any piece of equipment. Mass consensus rarely works.

I loved my Turbosmart Eboost. Great unit, gate settings to spool the turbo faster was always one of my favorite options. I had the original unit that didnt have boost by gear etc.. and still realy enjoyed it.

Currently on Boost by gear with S300. works well just not as good as the turbosmart but i figured out how to get the gate to stay closed longer for better turbo responce

I will be going with the Turbosmart EBOOST. I had problems getting the right used PROFEC B SPEC II so why not buy new. I checked out the turbosmart and the options are similar to PROFEC

If you have problems with spool, 90% of the time it's user error. There are tricks to the trade you know....

That is correct. READ THE MANUALS. I have been reading them to understand the lingo before I get the device.

Got a problem? Don't try to fix it, just sell it! Wow, how come I didn't think of that with those damn kids of mine?!?!?!? Would have saved me a lot of time and money, too late now though. Ahh, the "life lessons" that are taught on Honda-Tech.

I thought you where running an AEM EMS on your project? Just get only the boost solenoid and due boost per speed if not use the AEM’s TRU-BOOST. Not only its very easy to setup, it integrated with an on-board 29 PSIg pressure sensor, built-in overboost protection with two timed shutdown levels, a scramble boost setting and a low-side output for a warning light.

Julio. Do you even know that the Profec B has all that except boost-by-gear? I know you're trying to market AEM here since you sell it, but you gotta do better than just bash one product without knowing (or at least stating) its full capabilities.

Please, in the name of professionalism in the industry.. Step your game up when you're trying to market.

I just dropped my aem boost by speed for a 10 year old AVCR. Boost by speed is terrible. Wish there was a firmware update to add boost by gear & rpm to the series 1 stuff.

The AVCR seems to work well once you get it dialed in. Boost by gear & rpm. It also Spools the turbo slightly faster then AEM.

That's because of the stepper motor in the solenoid. It helps as a boost gain feature. The MAC sole kids are no stepper styled boost solenoids

They dont nessesarily need to be a stepper style to gain the same effects. Just add duty cycle in lower rpm to keep the wastegate closed longer and turn it back down to desired boost level when the time is right. I have mine this way and really increased turbo responce

Thanks guys. These were the answers I was looking for. There is nonethig wrong with this unit. It works fine and is my first time with thus unit. I been playing with it since I made this thread. So all us well. It just sucks that I received a cluster bezel with the gauge pod built in. so I cant mount the boost controker there but my aem wideband fits perfect. So I kinda wany that look.

Hey janet and julio how are you guys! yes the car has aem ems but I put it back in the box and saving it for a new car. Having a high hp car that really needs to be on a track and I am not going to cage this. And then with the harrassment from the local chp and cops. I decided to build a deciated track car for next year. I am happy with this project and considered it done. 500 is good for it. I do need to srt a date to have bisi really tune it. I street tuned it and it runs great. But I want more. pm me cause I want to order a few more things.

Theshodan. Can you please break down the stepper motor vs mac? I would like to learn more about it. Thank you.

Actually it does, especially when you want to use Boost gain to change behaviour of the turbocharger itself. The stepper gives a more transitional gain on the wastegate without having to adjust duty cycle. And its not just in the lower rpm, its completely across the board. One of the key reasons why I won't use the MAC solenoids.
