Default 98 civic ex -- low idle and acceleration problems

upload this video, this is what it's doing. Also when trying to accelerate the car doesn't accelerate correctly, until it hit a certain point.

Any CEL codes? How's your oil right now? Check timing?

that **** does sound like rod knock. sounds like a freakn diesel engine. well anyways since it happens when you let go of the gas ill say check your throttle body plate make sure it has no black soot around it if so as the vacuum pulls it shut the black soot covers the lil gap its suppose to have to keep it breathing. or it could be a open egr. and that stumble upod accelerate i would say it is egr, but if you pull the spark plugs out it will tell you whats going on with the engine

More than likely it's plugs if it stumbles during acceleration. Could be vacuum leak or bad intake manifold gasket or tb gasket. What about valves I had slight miss in gsr and it was due to bad valve. Could be a number of things but I would start with the easy stuff. Any codes?

I was having a similar problem. I'd check timing for sure. Do a compression test and let us know the results. Got any blue smoke coming out the exhaust?

Sounds like poor compression or the timing is off

If you don't answer questions posed to you, then this thread is pointless and will be closed. See posts #2 and #4.

Low idle - Clean the IACV and adjust the idle speed.
