98 civic Ex shutting down while idling
I dont know what the idle has to be on the 98 civic i tightened the throttle cable to 1,000 RPM and it still shuts down. I replaced the bearings on it because the engine was knocking. After that I turned it on for the first time and the car turned on with no problems but after 15 minutes it shut down. after that I changed spark plugs, spark plug wires, fuel filter and air filter. it still turns off.My idle was at almost 0 rpm the first couple of tries. After that and changing all that the car shuts down and then takes a while to start back up when the first couple of tries it had no problem

Check your timing and your Idle Air Control valve.
Make sure your Throttle Positioning Sensor and MAP sensors are plugged in, and that the plugs aren't switched, cuz that'll definitely kill your idle.
Also adjust your idle air screw on your throttle body.
NEVER try to compensate things by tightening your throttle cable. A healthy Honda engine doesn't need it to be like that to run, and neither should yours.
