Have you checked your intercooler? It might be full of oil.

I have not yet checked my intercooler.. How would oil get in my intercooler? My oil level is fine. My car does smoke a little thru the exhaust im guessing its the turbo seal.

Is it ok to run the car like this? I want to finish my tune and do 20psi. While i drive around like that i will save a bit and buy a new turbo is that fine? It will just burn oil i will keep an eye on my oil pressure n oil level like always

If a seal is starting to go the intercooler will act as a buffer and trap oil in the bottom of it. If you have been driving around casually for a while as soon as you dog on it the oil makes its way into your engine. If its enough it can damage the engine.

Its easy enough to check.

Sorry to bring up an old post, but I just recently installed a new Turbonetics 62mm and I've been noticing that my compressor housing has a little bit of oil in it. I have no kinks in the oil return, also have an oil restrictor, and there is no oil pass my first pipe going to the intercooler on the hot side. Pulled the downpipe and no oil to be seen as far as I know. Oil level is fine, car doesn't smoke at all and does not burn any oil. I previously had a 57mm turbo with a smaller exhaust housing and never had any oil problems in the compressor housing until I upgraded. I'm wondering if I need to upgrade my catch can setup or how could I lower my oil pressure.

Whats on the turbo intake pipe? Catch can line, etc?

And don't worry about the thread bumping, at least you bumped a topic in the same year that was relevant and already had good technical replies, more than happy to help.

Had this happen once. Oil was over filled a bit and about 80psi cold no restrictor on eBay journal bearing. It smokes. No issues going fast tho. Restrictor in spring

Nothing, I have two -10 lines running from valve cover to a catch can then back into the back of the block. Pretty much my turbo looks like what the OP picture looks like. I've changed my oil and made sure I put in the right amount and that doesn't seem to do anything lol.

What did you do to fix the problem? drain the oil?

What does your return line setup look like, are you running a restrictor, what's your maximum warm oil pressure?
