Default Could it be my CV Axle?

Hey all I just finished replacing my ISB in the tranny (for Honda Del sol w/D16) and I wondered if my Driver side CV Axle was bad. When reinstalling the axle i had a lot of trouble getting it to sit and when i finally did get it to where the clip was inside the diff there was a lot of clearance between the axle and the tranny housing. There aren't any leaks or tears on the boots and when, for example, at a stop light when accelerating from complete stop to about 15 mph i'll get a vibration and some clunking and it feels ilike its coming from the axle area. I had a feeling it was the CV axle since i kind of felt it wasn't sitting where/how it was supposed to. any thoughts? if it is the cv axle, would i be better off getting a new one?

Thanks in advance

The axle is not fully inserted into the transmission. There should only be about 1/8" between the differential and the inner CV joint.

Thanks that was my suspicion but i needed a second maybe a 3rd opinion. I'd hate for it to be my diff. the axle is definitely more than 1/8" from the tranny housing but i can't get it to go in further. Guess i'm getting a new one tomorrow.

Thanks again!!
