Questions on LS / B18B into EK
Hey guys,
As some of you may know I've been running the D16 Mini Me Swap for about 8 years now. It's been reliable and has given me no problems. However I've always wanted to upgrade as it's getting a little boring after that many years. I came across a complete 94 Integra LS for a reasonable price. It has 102,000 miles on it which isn't too bad. I picked the car up and did my homework on the swap. I'm going to add the "parts list" here for what I'm pretty sure I need for confirmation. I also have a few questions which I'll get to below.
First listed Part, Part #, Source Site, and Price.
OBD2 10-pin to OBD1 Distributor Adapter
N/A
rywire.com
$35.00
Rear T Mount from Si
50827-S04-N10
hondaautomotiveparts.com
$44.75
Studs for 2 Bolt Drivers Side Mount x2
90041-P01-000
hondaautomotiveparts.com
$5.37
2 Bolt Top Drivers Side Mount
11910-P30-000
hondaautomotiveparts.com
$51.93
AC Mount from CRV
38930-P7J-000
hondaautomotiveparts.com
$71.79
Question is on the AC Mount. Some say Del Sol where some say the CRV is the same and cheaper. I read that the CRV mount will interfere with a Torque Mount. Is this true? Also what belt would I use to keep my D16 AC Compressor on the B18B motor using the CRV mount?
Also I read that the Integra P75 ECU will need to have an IMM Chip removed. Is this correct? I'm unsure of my ECU as I haven't pulled it yet. Every chart I read says 94/95 P74 P75.
On a side note I plan to buy all new belts, a lot of new gaskets and o-rings, and new top and bottom radiator hoses. I have a slew of other parts and part numbers that I will not add here as they are not "required" for the swap. More of just me wanting to do things right.
I know I'll also need the Integra front tranny bracket, Top tranny D mount, Alternator Plug from Integra Harness, axles, shift linkage, etc. All this I already have between the Integra I bought and my civic.
Also, is this swap a decent upgrade? I know the torque is there and a few added HP from what I have now. The current Integra is fun to drive and the added torque seems to rip around okay for a daily driver. Not to mention I think my CX civic is 400 lbs lighter than the Integra.
Lastly, what are decent upgrade options for this motor? I want to still be reliable and know of the standard bolt-ons. Is the LS-Vtec fairly straight forward and inexpensive for a move down the road? I heard the B18B can hold boost well but to do it right that gets pretty expensive. I picked up this LS because I got the complete car for a good price and can sell my D series long block/tranny and part out the Integra before taking it to the scrap yard to recover a lot of my money.
Feedback, suggestions, and assistance welcome!
Thanks,
Jeremy
