Default Time for a new car

I just wrecked my S/C'ed LS, its one expensive pile of metal right now. So, depending on how much insurance money I can weasel, I am shooting for either a turbo GSR or turbo Lude. It will be a daily driver, 50 miles a day, 5 days a week, plus random miles on the weekend. What do you all think? Other cars are welcome too.

In my opnion a turbo Honda for a daily driver is not fit well, the h22 stock internals are weak stock so if you want power you will need to upgrade your internals.

IMO, I would get a Toyota Supra, Mazda Rx-7, or a TTZ. These car's are very nice and already come Twin Turbo depending on the model. Plus, the money you would be investing into a Turbo Lude or Turbo GSR, those cars will always be faster on the street.

Exactly, I have 17k or less. So a turbo lude is a no no.

yeah to build a H22 properly for turbo you need to sleeve the block, forged pistons etc...

Big power but turbo GS-R would be much more feasible

Just buy a late model 240sx with no engine, swap in a sr20det, turbo that and you're golden. You will have a rare car. the engine is easy to find, and strong as hell. Do some suspension work and you will handle like no other

I second the SR20DET idea. Those 240's look good with the s15 front conversion.

I always find it amazing that there are people out there who think like I do, lol. Yeah I was gonna say go with a SR20DE-T swap into a 240SX, but I see that Piotrush has beaten me to it. I know you probably want to stay with the Honda tradition, but that 240 would be one bad *** *****!! And you could easily do it for 17k. Good Luck one whatever you choose to do

What can I say, great minds think alike. That was one of my top choises if I had not gotten my lude. Having been a nissan owner previous to the lude I can say that nissan's engines can take heavy abuse. I had a nissan stanza before with the 2.4l, not as good for boosting but I put it through its paces, and it still ran strong when I sold it with 183,000 mi.

Bump I really dont have the money, or time for a swap. As much as I would love it and all, its just not feasable. I currently dont have a car, or alot of money, so it needs to be already built for the most part. Anyone for the turbo GSR idea?

I met a guy at the shop once and he had $15000, the next time i saw him there he had a GSR, t3/t4 turbo kit, rebuilt internals and alot of other cool ****.
If you dont have to spend money on body work or painting, this could work out well for you too.

Get a turbo GSR. Ours was totally reliable at 12 lbs stock motor and the turbo setup went great. Turboing a prelude the right way is a pain in the a$$, I'm going through it right now
