bought and installed a spec 2 exhaust,in the end the exhaust is too short.. roughly a 2 and a 1/2 inch gap in between the triangle flange on the exhaust and cat. i would like to run my cat for legal reasons.. but at this point i could care less and just want my exhaust to function..thanks in advance..

Car information
For all technical questions, the following information MUST be included in the first post: vehicle (year, make, model) and engine (if not stock, year, make, model, OBD type). Other pertinent information includes check engine light (CEL) codes as well as engine modifications, such as a turbo kit tuned at 18 psi or a specific throttle body, large injectors, big cams, etc. This information is absolutely essential because, in many instances, members wishing to help in a thread waste their time by posting detailed replies, only to find out the next day that the topic starter left out CRITICAL information. Please respect members wishing to help by taking the time to list or mention crucial information about your car.

a little more info. im running a stock usdm gsr header. the outlet on my gsr cat measures around 1 7/8. the spec2 exhaust is 2 3/8". cutting the exhaust is not an option.cutting the cat is not an option.ive read that the 2 1/2" test pipe has fitment issues on a stock oem manifold, due to its o.d. being in the neighborhood of 2 1/4". i have thought of taking a measurement from header back to flange of b pipe and having a muffler shop weld it for me. id still like to keep the look of a cat..
