Icon2 Rack & Pinion issues!! Help

95 honda civic Lx 4dr Sedan- w/ABS

So i replaced the Steering Rack without centering my steering wheel, took it for an alignment but steering wheel still not centered (not as bad as before) but still off.

So i loosened up the bolt at the bottom of the steering column that holds the neck of the rack and pinion and start to center my steering wheel boom got it right , well here is where the problem starts.

If i turn my steering wheel to make a circle in either direction (turned all the way) i start to hear metal to metal really bad, what did i do wrong? How can i fix this?

You must also center the cable reel in the steering wheel.

In addition, the steering wheel also can be centered by removing it and reinstalling.

ok i will remove the steering whell and center it, but what about the metal rubbing when i turn my wheel all the way, it's almost as if my turning ratio has been reduced.....

have you aligned it yet? if not the tie rods could be to far out of range and wheel hitting something, or have wrong rack installed. where is the sound coming from btw? column, rack or wheels?

Should have added this^ to first post.

Sounds like the wheel splash guards are bent and rubbing on the brake rotor. Bend them away from the rotor.

If its coming from the wheels then it shouldnt be the steering wheel unless its possibly only on one side that its happening. You sure you have the right rack? And do you have any idea what it could be scraping on? Check the parts down there and see if there are any visible signs of rub.

The problem was i rushed the job of replacing the rack and everything else that i accidently put the tie rods on backwards, left on right and right on left. funny how the people at suntire where i got my alignment done at, didn't pick that up.

Anyways lesson learned don't rush and double check everything!!

Took my steering wheel off just now and everything is A ok.

LOL I'd think about taking your car elsewhere for the alignment from now on if they didnt notice that.
