a guy wants me to street tune his car. his car was a rats nest. i did my best to get it working. i rewired it , redid vacum line. when i use ectune the car fuel pump runs all the time. when i use crome it will start up idles good but the moment you give it throttle it revs to 3k stops, studers and dies. you cant drive it no matter how much fuel i add it does nothing. its running lean

 

Sounds like a mechanical problem. Can you verify that enough fuel is getting to the cylinders? Put in new plugs, try again, then check them for fuel signs.

 

isn't the 3k sputter a sign of map sensor issues?

 

tps and map switched?

 

i checked the map got it wired correct runs better now. but got some bugs. with the keys on and map unplugged should the map signal wire have 3.5 volts

Probably the best thing you could do.

 

Ditching it before you got in to far > wasting your time fixing a cheap rookies electrical nightmare.

 

what goes threw ppls heads some time. you take a simple swap with a turbo and start cutting wires why. the map sensor wires had been cut 11 times and used butt wire connectors. i told him i thought that was the problem so i soldered a new wire and plug on. he then looked at me said if that makes u happy mr electrical engineer. so i got my stuff up and left.

 

We'll probably see this car on the news/Youtube. It will be stopped on the side of the road with flames shooting out from under the hood or even worse, out of the cabin.

Some people just can't be helped.
