1997 civic speedometer isnt working
Hey guys i have a 1997 honda civic hatchback with a b16 swap and im having trouble with my speedometer. I have checked the speed sensor and i got 4 volts out of it and i have replaced the speedometer gauge itself and it still isnt working. Can any1 help me out on what else i should do? IDK what wires to look for. I appreciate every bit of help anyone has. Thank you very much.

it could be a bad speed sensor because i had problems with it before in an automatic civic. two things would happen with a bad speed sensor. 1 it wouldnt shift right and 2.the speedometer wouldnt work. try a used one and see if it helps.

check the contacts in the sensor, I tryed a bunch of things and even bought a new one and it ended up that the pins in the sensor were corroded and pushed back.
Honestly i bought the car with the swap idk if they used a 99-00 engine harness. also i was getting 4 voltage from the wire going to the speed sensor but i will check the contact again

Any CEL codes? Does the odometer work?
4 volts comes from the ECU. Check whether the Blk/Yel wire in the VSS plug has battery voltage and whether the black wire has ground.
Check fuse 15.

I forgot to mention that the odometer abduction trip meter don't work either. i didn't have any cel but then i realized that the previous owner took the bulb out.....when i put a bulb in the check engine light flashes. i went to get my codes scanned and the reader would not connect....i believe I've gotten screwed pretty bad on this car..
Hey guys i found some wires that werent hooked up and i unplugged the wire that was connected to the speed sensor...the first one has both. the wire i am holding is the one that i unplugged from the speed sensor. The one on the right is the wire that was cut and hanging but it doesnt reach the speed sensor...but it has the orange, yellow/black and the ground wire

the second image is the actual wire that was cut
