i will say that she fires up when she wants to (but she has left me in the dirt face down on EVERY important occasion since i got the car).. BUT when its starts.. it RUNS GREAT! if you turn it off directly after running, and start again it turns over... but leave it for more than an hour and its a crap shoot to get it started again..

before me the car sat for approx 2yrs, i just bought the car a week ago, the "honda mech" and the friend who sold me the car checked the timing, did a full tuneup and head gasket (looks legit), since ive had the car we changed the fuel pump, the battery (interstate premium), checked and tested main relay, changed the ECU, worked out all the old gas from it sitting, put in full take of premium. yesterday after it started i had a long drive, during the drive i did noticed the speedometer rapidly twitching up and down from 0 passed 120

this morning all i heard was a whirrrring noise.. no catching or turning. im losing it.. i need to get to work, im running out of money, and time.

So the starter won't crank the engine? If so, check whether the battery is dead.

battery is new. its doing great. we have a good charging unit. the old battery.. now that was clearly a problem.

after the whirring noise i tried to start it again. recently.. it no longer just whirs.. it sound like its trying to start but not catching. we gave it a spritz of starting fluid.. no change. or reaction. we know its getting fuel.. im leaning toward an electrical malfunction some where. shes a great car if it starts.

maybe something along the line between the ignition and what ever might stop the plugs from firing... as i mentioned, yesterday it started great. like nothing was ever wrong.. but this starting problem has been with the car since i got it recently.. the last owner said it plagued him, but i was desperate for a car.. and it was low price. i feel like its worth fixing.

since i got it:
i changed the fuel pump first.
then the ecu got swapped
(supposedly got shorted trying to start the car so much)
then got new battery.

Mine was the relay. Everytime it gives me trouble I give it a smack and it starts right up.New one is in the mail but that was my issue when it was doing the same exact thing
