Any advice will help, especially ASAP advice to help with the flood of 240sx w/ sr20 thoughts that have been goin through my mind...please!!!!

If you already had a fully built motor, shouldn't you beable to tell what needs to be done now. The thing that most of us do, is throw some rods and low comp pistons in the block. If you want, you might as well sleeve it also. And anything from hondata to haltech should easily handle your fuel needs. I just kept it simple but i'm sure somebody will go into detail.

what would make for a better turbo motor the ZC or the D16z6? if i put some LS rods in think they would hold under pressure they said in Honda Tuning they could hold up to 350 hp? i had the LS rods in A6 and it held up to the 125 shot of NOS, i've really never felt the need to go turbo so i'm kind of new to it, any info can help, recommendations on fmu? thanks!

I don't know to much about the ZC engine. My first turbo was on a d16y8. I used stock everything and took the boost only up to 8psi. I personally don't want to take the chance and find out if stock rods will hold. So with my new build i've bought all aftermarket parts such as eagle rods, arias pistons and resleeved the block. FMU's, well everyone has their own opinion. I personally used it. I used 440cc injectors, vortech fmu 12:1 disk, 255lph fuel pump, and a vafc to lean out the fuel. For me it worked great, for others it hasn't.

Works for the people that try it, doesnt work for the people that say it doesnt work.

Yo about the post before about your original question. The APEX GT intercooler is amazing, one of the best on the market, whoever told you it wasnt is crazy. Its Apex's Skyline Core with endtanks and piping to fit a civic.

what's up elite, i remember you were like the only other person that agreed with me on that awhile ago. I just didn't want to say do the fmu setup cause i'm sure 100 people would tell me how stupid i am and that my car won't run right and that his won't either and he should spend a ton more money doing the standalone.

FMU($100)+VAFC($325)+missing link($50). Almost $500 plus you still need something for timing don't you? It still needs to be dyno tuned also. I don't see what's so cheap about that compared to a Hondata 2B or a Zdyne if he stays OBD0.

You don't always have to buy stuff brand new and even if you do, you can always find deals. No, i didn't do anything with the timing when i did the fmu setup and if inline did, well they didn't charge for it. You don't need to dyno tune it, we never did, it was mainly just a street car and bracket racing. Now don't get me wrong, with my new build i'm going haltech, but the fmu setup is just as good if your not planning on running insane numbers. I think for the money, a fmu setup is worth every penny and i would stand by it. Don't you still need to put the hondata or any of those systems on a dyno, i don't know cause i don't use them.

Another Utah honda..where you at the honda-tech meet we had?? ANyways were are you getting the work done?? Go with a hondata and some DSM 450's, should be a cheap fuel setup that would work well for you setup.

Ya see this guy wants to boost mid teens so that's why I said that.

AdReneline- Get some pistons/rods and the block sleeved if you can afford it. I would go with Hondata or Zdyne depending on what motor you go with. I also don't think 450s will be enough injector for you. I would go with RC 550cc's.

your right dutchie, i guess i didn't see that part. For example were gonna run 12psi daily and 18psi at the track and that is the max we'll attempt to push on the fmu setup untill i get the haltech. And it will limit us to the power my car can make. So if you can get the money together now, i also recommend going with a standalone, but if you want to stay around 10psi the fmu setup is very capable of supply your fuel needs.

I don't see your logic...

12:1 FMU at 40 base + 120 for 10 psi of boost. That's 160 PSI total fuel pressure.

10:1 FMU at 40 base + 100 for 10 psi of boost. That's 140 PSI total fuel pressure.

WAY too much, IMO.

logic is nothing, j/k. Hey i don't know, all i know is with the vafc leaning it out the car ran perfect. Almost all setups coming out of inlinepro use the same setup unless they want something different. And i don't think many people will argue with the way they do things, very fast cars come out of that shop.

Yah everyone in NOVA uses the FMU/AFC setup and for some reason all the cars in NOVA are fast as ****. Well any way. You say about why do we want to run FMU and AFC setup when its about the same price as a hondata. Its because we can tune it ourseleves anytime we want, and change anything (fuel)at any time. And with a Missing Link we run 12-18lbs of boost. Come up and visit inline pro or Nu Image all the cars their are crazy fast, most of which are running AFC/FMU setups. I am not downplaying Standalones or saying that they arent the best way to go, I am just saying what works for me and my friends and our cars run low 11's with this setup.

my man elite is back agian, thanks man, for some reason i can't get out what i'm trying to say today. Thanks for helping answer this one, yep, 11's with the afc and you really don't need that inline pump like everyone claims. I never had a problem, i might get one though, but i'm not sure unless i find out something else.

Elite, when you getting back from school, we got to meet up.

Def. Man, I do run a fuel pump its an intank. You really should get a pump. But with the pump, AFC, 440cc injectors,Missing Link and FMU, 11's is cake
