what should i check after alternator shorts out? list of replaced parts.
ok the alternator was shorted a while back when a buddy helped put the car back together. he didnt tighten the stud that gives the positive out of the alt. so it was just tapping the pole on the alt while i was driving. eventually it shorted out the unit and some other stuff.
since then i have replaced a lot of stuff to fix the problem.
problem:
the car seems to bogg down and stutter while starting off from a stop.
it will stall intermittedly while at a light.
the rpm will just drop after a little shaking, from idling at 900 rpm.
gas it and it seems to struggle to accellerate.
then sometimes it seems kinda ok and wont do it soo much.
replaced items:
alternator (non oem),
ecu,
new tps,
new map sensor,
new honda engine harness,
new battery,
new disributor(non oem),
new honda iacv,
new walbro fuel pump.
i am not sure what else is related directly to the alt and so i am not sure what to check to see what else could be still damaged.
what else could i need to check?
main relay?
any other relays?
maybe a shorted wire? but i dont know where else cause i replaced the engine harness with an oem honda brand new harness.
there is NO cel.

it sounds like you've covered most of what it could have been..
as far as the bogging and dropping idle,id make sure your new tps has the correct readings and is adjusted accordingly.

i was kinda thinking this but how do i acutally check them?
i did notice that the ground was getting old but i cant see if they are damaged from the shorting? and i dont know how to test for it directly.
also the new maing engine harness is new. it did have some grounding points which i assume i can discount that problem.

did spent a nice amount of time to just get it just right when i originally installed it because i too thought it was that.
