So i replaced the clutch in my car, just cause i bought a better one(previous one was stock)... Anyways i put everything back together and when i drive the car it sounds like metal is scraping from the Driver side front wheel assembly. I checked to see if it was becase of the heat shield rubbing on either the rim or rotor but it clears it, and i also chcked the brake pad clips and those do not touch the rotor, the noise is usually loud when i turn to the left in a circle, and it will speed up the sound or randomly go away... Im not really sure what could cause this, but im thinking the front left rotor is possibly warped. Or the caliper is bad. I took the caliper off and the piston looks fine, its free when the car is in the air and it doesnt stop the rim from moving. Any suggestions? it almost sounds like the heat shield rubs on the rotor but its not. There is no nose from the passenger front so im thinking the clutch was installed correctly and the transmission/cv axles as well. Im kinda stumped, but the only thing i can really do is try new rotors/bads and possibly new calipers? But why would it have happened after i installed the clutch?

 

did you install the shock forks around the right way as they are offset to one side
it could be rubbing on the CV joint when turned

 

yeah i installed them correctly, it does it sometimes when i roll straight as well.

 

You pulled the front rotors when doing the install correct? The two phillips head screws that go in there, did you get those tightened down? Just a thought since you said the heat shield is not rubbing. It's usually something little

 

Originally when the noise happened i didn't mess with any of that, then I took it apart and still the noise. I guess I'm just going to have to go thru the process of elimination.

 

Pull the wheel splash guards farther away from the rotors.

Is the metal dust ring around the wheel bearing hitting the outer CV joint?
